Omicron Update

Essentially nothing has changed in terms of our policies and procedures that have been in place for the last 18 months. (all existing parts of the practice patient journey still apply)

There is some updated guidance regarding how patients are triaged for their appointment and are now assigned to a respiratory virus or non respiratory virus treatment pathway.

Symptoms of the new variant include blocked / runny nose, scratchy / sore throat, dry cough, muscle ache and fatigue.  Any patients with these symptoms (and / or existing COVID-19 symptoms) will be asked to reschedule their appointment.

We rely on your honesty to keep us all safe.

Thank you.

The Patient Portal is an online hub where patients can sign in securely to complete their forms (COVID-19 questionnaire, Medical history, contact details, etc) prior to their appointment.  We are trying to reduce manual form filling, queues at reception and limit the number of people in the waiting room.  Keeping everyone safe, we can also triage patients ahead of their appointment to make sure they are symptom free from Coronavirus. All information will be sent directly to the practice and treated confidentially.

A new Verification code is now sent to your mobile phone to allow access to your portal.  This provides a unique and secure link.

Update : Dentistry is unaffected by todays Lockdown announcement by the First Minister.

We are open and able to see you for your dental care.

Travel for dental appointments is essential and allowed.

There is no higher priority to our team than the safety of our patients. When visiting us at Morningside Drive, we want you to feel confident that all health and safety measures are taken to prevent transmission of all disease, including Coronavirus.

We rely on evidence based resources for the latest information to keep our patients, our team and our community safe.

It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to temporarily STOP all dental care until we feel confident that we can provide our high quality dentistry in a safe environment for our patients and our team.

The Government and British Dental Association guidance is now urging dental practices to postpone all face-face treatment and only treat emergencies with an advice lead service.

We are in the process of contacting our patients to cancel booked appointments.

We are still available for advice during this time, we can be contacted on facebook, our new e mail address msddcteam31@gmail.com, or call to speak to Malcolm directly – 07968782442

We encourage you to follow the guidelines set out by the government to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Stay at home, stay safe and we look forward to welcoming you back to the practice very soon.

The situation is likely to change over the coming days, weeks and we will inform you here as soon as we find out any new information.

We thank you for your understanding during this difficult time.

Malcolm, Debbie and the team at Morningside Drive Dental Care

We thought that you would like to know that we are improving the entrance to the practice. We aim to make this more accessible for all patients.

The work will be carried out from Tuesday 2nd April through to Friday 5th April inclusive.

During this time we will not be seeing patients for regular appointments.

Please contact us via telephone or email for any emergencies and we will endeavour for you to be seen.

Many thanks for your understanding.
